VoiceQuote AI ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application at voicequoteai.vercel.app (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address via Clerk (our authentication provider).
• Generated proposals: The proposals you generate are saved to our database (Supabase) and linked to your account.
• Voice recordings (transient): Audio you record is sent to our AI provider for transcription. We do not store audio recordings — they are processed in real time and immediately discarded.
• Payment information: Payments are handled entirely by Paddle (our Merchant of Record). We never store credit card numbers or sensitive payment details.
• Usage data: We collect anonymous usage analytics via Vercel Analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Service (generate proposals, store your quote history).
• To manage your subscription and enforce usage quotas.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. proposal delivery) via Resend.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate VoiceQuote AI:

• AI Provider: Voice transcription and proposal generation. Audio and text are processed transiently and never stored.
• Clerk: User authentication and identity management.
• Supabase: Database for storing user accounts and proposals.
• Paddle: Subscription billing and payment processing (Merchant of Record).
• Vercel: Hosting, serverless functions, and anonymous analytics.
• Resend: Transactional email delivery.

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing data they process on our behalf.

5. Data Retention

• Proposals are retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
• Audio recordings are never stored — they are discarded immediately after transcription.
• Payment records are retained by Paddle per their policy and applicable tax regulations.

6. Your Rights

GDPR (EU/UK residents): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and export your personal data. You may also object to or restrict certain processing.

CCPA (California residents): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of sale. We do not sell your data.

7. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies for authentication (via Clerk) and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, row-level security in our database, and access controls limiting data access to necessary systems only. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
